The Perfect Lazy Sunday Activity

Do you ever wonder what to do with your Sunday morning? If you’d like to get out and enjoy the sunshine, but are feeling a little lazy…Golden Gate Fields is a perfect compromise!

For starters, GGF is nestled across from the beautiful Berkeley Hills.  As it is all open air seating, be sure to dress accordingly. If you come on a Sunday, you’ll most likely delight in Dollar Days! $1 parking, $1 entry, $1 programs, $1 beers, $1 sodas, and $1 hot dogs. Did I mention $1 beers?! It’s a cheap date waiting to happen.

Our 2 year old enjoyed picking and cheering for the horses, and insisted he get a chance to ride on them. Unfortunately, he wasn’t amused when I told him we couldn’t ride the horses. The escalators were also a big hit with the kid. Honestly, one of the best things about GGF was that it wasn’t overly crowded, and my son had endless possibilities to safely run around and expend some energy.

After entry, food, beers, and some bets…our grand out-of-pocket total was about $19. Not too shabby for a fun afternoon!
